ER Certification has established the PLC Scheme to assist window and door manufacturers and installers in demonstrating compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.
Founded in 2009, ER Certification initially provided Energy Rating Certification. To expand its services, the company gained Product Certification Accreditation to EN 45011 through assessment by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). In 2015, ER Certification achieved accreditation to ISO 17065, the international standard for conformity assessment requirements for certifying products, processes, and services.
Since its inception, ER Certification has added several certification schemes, including:
PAS 24: Enhanced security performance requirements for doorsets and windows
EN 1279: Insulating Glass Units
EN 12150: Thermally Toughened Safety Glass
EN 14351: Windows and Doors performance characteristics
In 2021, ER Certification expanded its UKAS Scope to include Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ISO 9001:2015. In 2022, the company attained UK Approved Body Status, enabling it to conduct UK Approved Body Activity in accordance with UKCA Requirements.
